Merry Cris + James {ENGAGED!}

Merry Cris (aka M.C. to her friends and family) and James were students at California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo, CA.  They met at a college party in early October 2006.  They met a few more times that month although their encounters were brief.  Coincidentally, they met again at their college library.  This led to weekly meetings in the library until they graduated in 2008.

Six years later they will finally tie the knot this coming Saturday, August 11th in Thousand Oaks, CA!!  I’ve known M.C. since I was in junior high school so when she contacted me last year to help design and plan her wedding I felt very honored.  She’s one of the sweetest, intelligent girls I know and I wanted to make sure her dream wedding will look ultra fabulous and chic with a mod/vintage theme!!

Here’s a little preview of their e-session!!  Allen Newsum of Ambrosia Event Services photographed it on the grounds of their alma mater.  Enjoy!!

Laura + Manny {ENGAGED!}

Laura and Manny are one of the most beautiful couples I've ever seen...and I really mean that!!  Laura works for US Bank and Manny is a professional baseball player entering his 7th year in pro baseball.  His career includes the San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies.  Laura and Manny will be tying the knot this month at the beautiful St. Denis Catholic Church in Diamond Bar followed by a platinum wedding reception at the Hilton in Pasadena.  MDCE will be reunited once again with Amber Event Production and Brassavolas Floral Couture for their lavish wedding (aka the Platinum Dream Team).  I'm definitely looking forward to their nuptials!!

This e-session was photographed by San Diego wedding photographer, James Moro Photography, in beautiful Temecula, California.  James did an amazing job!  Check out more of James's work via his website!

Katerina + Paul {Engaged!} - Part One Teaser

Katerina and I used to work together years ago.  We've known each other for more than five years.  So when she asked me to plan her wedding I was completely thrilled, but most of all I felt extremely honored!

This cute couple simply LOVES New York!!  I don't blame them.  It's my kind of city!!  In the winter of 2009, Kat and Paul traveled to New York City to celebrate her birthday.  Little did she know she was going to get the biggest surprise of her life!  On a snowy day in the middle of Central Park, Paul proposed to the love of his life with a beautiful emerald-cut sparkler!  So it's no wonder this couple decided to travel back to NYC with their photographer, the fabulous Kristi Klemens of KLK Photography, for their e-session!  Their love for NYC doesn't stop there.  Their NYC winter engagement will serve as our inspiration in designing their November 11th (11-11-11) platinum wedding, which will take place at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel and Spa in Westlake Village, California.  It's going to be a romantic, modern, classy, magical, fabulous and dramatic winter wonderland!!  For more info regarding this teaser, please visit Kristi's blog.  Enjoy this fabulous, sexy teaser from KLK Photography.  More fabulous pictures from their destination e-session will follow soon so stay tuned!!

Kristi + Andy {Engaged}!

Kristi and Andy are my second 'internet love story' couple!  They've been together for 3.5 years and still going strong!  When Kristi approached me to coordinate her wedding I was surprised to hear she had been planning her wedding from the Bay Area.  I asked her why Andy and her chose to wed in Southern California.  Her answer?  "A vintage-themed wedding at the Queen Mary".  Yes, the historic Queen Mary!  I've never stepped foot on this boat before.  Not only am I excited to see Kristi and Andy get married, but I'm thrilled that this will be my first time coordinating on a historic boat!  Their wedding will definitely be timeless and elegant!  This e-session featuring this cute Bay Area couple was shot at the Queen Mary by the fabulous photographer, Nathan Nowack.  Check out Nathan's blog post for the full gallery!  Enjoy the gorgeous pictures everyone!

Marisol + T.J. {Engaged}!

This love story is 7 years in the making.  Marisol and T.J. are my very first destination wedding couple.  This sweet couple met in 2004 at a mutual friend's party.  They had a long distance relationship for several years.  She lived in Carson and TJ lived in Oxnard, which is also my hometown.  (Small world right?)  TJ proposed to Marisol on a hot air balloon ride in Temecula on February 13, 2010.  During the ride the pilot made a suggestion to Marisol to take pictures of the vineyard.  To her surprise, there was a sign that read "Marisol, will you marry me?"  Very romantic and sweet!  Marisol and TJ will have a beautiful beach wedding at Marina Maroma Paradise Beach Club in the beautiful Riviera Maya in January 2012.

This pretty e-session took place at three locations:  Old Town San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Beach, and Irvine.  It was photographed by one of my favorite wedding photographers, Mieng Saetia.  Enjoy!

Pauline + Wayne {Engaged}!

Yes I know it’s been months since my last post!  As you all know I gave birth to my second princess, Ava Loren!  I wanted to take it easy before I got back into the mode of planning fabulous wedding and events again.  So far 2011 has proven to be quite busy for MDC Events!  Not only do I have some yummylicious weddings coming up for this year and next year, but I have other parties coming up as well!  I’d like to start off by introducing Pauline and Wayne!  I remember the first time I met with this adorable couple!  We met at Victoria Gardens to discuss their upcoming nuptials on Saturday, February 28, 2009.  I remember telling them, “Wow.  June 2011 wedding?  That’s a long time from now.”  Well, time sure flies!  They will be tying the knot in 1.5 months!  Pauline and Wayne met through her cousin at an internet cafĂ© Wayne’s family used to own.  This couple has been dating since June 17, 2002.  They will finally tie the knot in a hot pink & black modern-vintage themed wedding at the Lindley-Scott House in Azusa on the same day he asked her to be his girl (aww…how sweet)!  I’m definitely looking forward to their wedding!  For now please enjoy their urban e-session taken by Peter Chaney from iNickel Photography.  They chose two fabulous locations that suits their personalities best, The Camp in Costa Mesa, and one of my personal favorite locations (you’ve seen it featured on my blog twice already), the Viceroy in Santa Monica!  Enjoy!!!
